3.1. Number of requested experts per category and number of man-days per expert
This consultancy requires one expert working for a period of 120 days, to be carried out over 365 calendar days (based on a 5 day working week). The expert might be requested to work for 6 days per week when conducting certain specific tasks requiring to work during the week ends. This will require a prior written agreement between the Delegation and the Contractor.
The EU would like to have the implementation of this assignment as continuous as possible. However, given the difficult living conditions in Juba, a system of regular short leaves can be proposed and agreed with the EU as part of the drafting of the work plan at the beginning of the assignment.
3.2. Profile required
§ The expert should hold a Postgraduate University degree in development economics and/or agricultural economics or similar fields.
§ At least 10 years of professional experience in development cooperation, preferably in the sub-region.
§ In depth experience and expertise in the fields of Rural Development and Food Security.
§ In depth experience and expertise in aid sector coordination.
§ In-depth experience in dealing at high level with development partners, such as bilateral donors, UN agencies, International NGOs as well as the World Bank;
§ Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
§ Previous working experience in South Sudan is an asset.
